La Noche de Aparición (which could be translated as ‘The Night of the Ghost’) is a clownish narrative dance performance by Désirée 0100 and Lulu Muñoz. Inspired by Mexican folk tales, the performance will present three different stories in one evening: La Procesión de los MuertosLos Narcosatánicos, and La Llorona. At the same time, the performance also explores themes such as loneliness, ghosts, missing persons, homesickness, and social gatherings.

The performance reflects on popular culture, entertainment, and the horror genre. At the same time, for Lulu and Désirée this work symbolises a process in which they give new meaning to their journey as immigrant artists: an attempt to reconcile the divergent elements of their native country and their new home in Belgium.

• Désirée 0100 was born in Mexico in 1992 and has lived in Belgium since 2018. She is a performer, creator, and teacher who explores magic, healing, immigration, horror, fantasy and humour. Between 2015 and 2018, she collaborated with Dana Dance Company in France, where she led dance projects in medical environments. In 2022 and 2023, she created La Fiesta de Delfina, which was presented at a number of festivals. Currently, she is developing La Noche de Aparición, in which she combines dance, clowning and Mexican folklore.

• Lulu Muñoz, born in Colombia in 1994 and living in Belgium since 2016, graduated from P.A.R.T.S. in 2021. Their work combines dance, performance, and electronic music, influenced by their Urban dance background in Latin America. From their choreography background, they developed a unique approach to sound design, collaborating with artists such as Désirée 0100, Joshua Serafin, and Nathan Ooms. They are currently working with Désirée 0100 on La Noche de Aparición, exploring Mexican folklore and horror aesthetics.
