L'Antidote

Healing sounds as an antidote in a troubled world: L'Antidote unites three musicians from Lebanon, Albania, and Iran in a poetic blend of jazz and world music.

Can beauty save the world? It sounds like a bold thought, but for L'Antidote, it forms the ambitious premise of their music. With Lebanese pianist Rami Khalifé, Albanian cellist Redi Hasa, and Iranian percussionist Bijan Chemirani, the trio unites three musicians who each bring their own tradition and personal voice. By listening attentively to one another, they create poetic, meditative soundscapes in which silence and space are just as important as melody and rhythm. Together, they reach out to one another in a quest for a universal sound that does not erase their differences, but merges them into a rich and hopeful whole. Between stillness and dancing intoxication, L'Antidote finds healing sounds as an antidote in a troubled world.
