Julie writes a long love letter in an otherwise empty room. Over a period of many weeks, she sometimes shifts her mattress a bit and lives on a bag of sugar. She becomes increasingly frustrated by the contents of the letter. She hitchhikes along the Brussels highway where she is picked up by a truck driver. They drink and dine a bit in motorway restaurants, and she passively satisfies his sexual needs. They break up in a public bathroom.
This film is screened as part of the exhibition Her Voice - Echoes of Chantal Akerman at FOMU - Fotomuseum. The group exhibition brings together new and recent work by seven international artists inspired by Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman.
