Lip Service is the indie-pop band built around Hannah and Kasper Cornelus (Flip Kowlier, Het Zesde Metaal), Roel Deplancke (Lézard) and Mathijs Steels (SHHT, Ciska Ciska). The group is known for its free-spirited, minimally bombastic musical approach and quirky, danceable live performances. Their music bundles a long list of influences into idiosyncratic pop songs full of angular grooves and melodies that stick. Recommended for fans of Talking Heads, Deerhoof, The Van Jets, Pixies, XTC and Dirty Projectors.
In 2026 they will release their second album, which they will present in the ANKER.KERK. Jasper Segers (Sylvie Kreusch) joined the team as producer of the new record. Greg Saunier of Deerhoof handled the mixing.
