HARDCORE, a new creation by Alban Ovanessian, aspires to a queer utopia. A bodily utopia of post-emancipation. A utopia in which bodies are finally liberated, affirmed. Resilient, heroic bodies that already exist beyond marginalisation. Future bodies. Present bodies.
The stage, transformed into an interactive arena, becomes a space of expression for four performers — Bissi Adeye, Aaa Biczysko, Elsa Tagawa, and Arno Verbruggen — unfolding through constellations of identities and experiences.
Within an aesthetic where softcore meets hardcore, and through a score of movements rooted in effort, repetition, and endurance, they explore their intimacies and new ways of relating.
An ode to bodily and identity diversity, HARDCORE projects us — individually and collectively — into futures and into our presents, inviting us to ask: is our society at the heart of its deconstruction, or is it already rising from its ashes?
