2026’s Mid-August XRDS rises from a Sweltering Fuse

Shuttle over to Vijverspark aka Parc des Étangs’ overpass area this summer to hear the reverie of techno echoes spinning from DJs of emotive club, bass, progressive and 50+ mixers’ diverse melodic and rhythmic inspirations. Anderlecht will once again host Belgium’s record-long electronic retreat, where uncannily iconic industrial architecture juxtaposes the throngs who thrive in subcultural soundscapes. You can feel the high(way) a little early and see some of the setlist now:
Shoplifter
Demonstrating dub, breakbeats, with a hypnotic twang of kookiness, Shoplifter reads the room made effervescent by her music and coagulates crowds at festival stages across Belgium and the Netherlands. Outside of broadcasting her own Antwerp-based radio station, Shoplifted, her B2Bs are giddily and inquisitively rendered with palpable camaraderie.

Azo
Azo’s sets generate a crispy, streamlined bounce across venue walls with signature acid-dripped moodiness, which lends to her expertise as a producer/keyboardist/engineer of lush noise. This DJ of multicontinental genre inspirations co-curates Brussels’ Queer Future Club, a haven of multidisciplinary artistic mixtures, and is a staple of the LGBTQ+ party scene.

Hysope
Hardgroove, Latin, and Ghettotech rhythmic influences are some of the various favourite selections of the Brussels-born and raised Hysope. With pulsating effects as visceral and unwavering as a pseudo-cinematic theatre’s plot twists and turns, their mesmerising hold on comprehensive dancefloors is accompanied by a refreshing professional and genuine friendship with fellow DJ, groundbreaking advocate toward highlighting POC artists, and SIZZLEPROOF collective co-founder JEKKAMAÏ.

Sookie & su:zy
Sookie’s quest to reintroduce the world to unrecognised vinyls and tracks continues to be achieved, effectively pulling audiences of clandestine shows into a perpetual energetic undulation between directions of reaction and movement. su:zy reckons with ethereally subdued yet buoyant tunes which gently brush eardrums. They blend intuitive sensibilities both regularly at the Brussels radio network GIMIC and soon at XRDS this year.

Kuba’97
This Leuven-hailing monthly Kiosk radio resident embraces a ritualistic implementation of flute/chimes combos, cyborg sonics, and powerhouse vocalisations all with a 90s style upbeatness plus unpredictable switches from song to dialogue sample to ambient instrumental thumps. Kuba’97 is at home in venues from Horst to De Lijn station Nacht and Stelplaats to open air events, and surely will captivate the highway-sheltering audiences at XRDS.
