David Lynch’s 2001 psychological thriller, Mulholland Drive, is categorized as a surrealist neo-noir mystery film. Lynch earned the Prix de la mise en scène (Best Director Award) at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, Lynch also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Director. Mulholland Drive is often regarded as one of Lynch's finest works, receiving widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike.
