Mary Jane Leach, the American composer who, along with such spirits and peers as Julius Eastman, Arnold Dreyblatt, and Philip Corner, held sway in the bustling New York of the 1970s, will perform her latest exploit on our very own MIRY organ. Marjolein Vernimmen, Jenna Vergeynst and Roel Das also take our hall as their starting point. In ‘Echo Yes No’ by American composer Mike Svoboda, they get to work on its specific spatial aspects in a surrounding setting that excites both ears and eyes. Never before will your choice of seat play such a role. They round off their set with a short piece by Belgian composer Benjamin Van Esser, which weaves disorienting metrical effects and multifarious harmonies into a sensuous organic whole.
