Loshh was born in the Netherlands, has Nigerian roots, grew up in Dublin and lives in London. He was brought up on Gospel, taught himself to play drums and guitar and developed a passion for writing. His first self-help book was published in 2016, after which he started modelling as well as writing poetry. Not to be taken for granted, we think.
Nowadays, he mainly works around visual art, poetry and sound. The result is a unique sound where the influence of King Sunny Ade and Fela Kuti is strongly felt. His first EPs Ifarada and Akọle immediately attracted the attention of leading media such as Pitchfork, Fader, i-D, Guardian, The Face and Crack Magazine.
Bad With Phones began playing as a child in the band of the church where his father was pastor. For his own amusement, he started playing subtle R&B riffs during services. Inspired by artists like Bootsy Collins, he sought and found inspiration from black artists who went against the grain. He went to Westminster University, where he was in class with Michael Kiwanuka and Paolo Nutini. There, he grew as a songwriter and performer. Soon we will get to hear his first mixtape. Expect a cross-pollination of electronic beats, guitar and R&B!
