Phew © Masayuki Shioda

The legendary Japanese composer Phew returns to Belgium with her punky electronics, alongside the performative music of Merche Blasco and the DIY creations of the Ghent duo Rimov Rimov.

Rimov Rimov

rimov/Rimov is the musical brainchild of artists Simon Joostens and Robbe De Pestel who explore different genres, ranging from leftfield hip hop and avant-folk to guitar music, DIY synth stuff and sound design. The group tries to reflect their broad musical interests in an ever-changing live set.

Merche Blasco

Merche Blasco is a multimedia artist and composer from New York, currently living in Berlin. She designs and builds imprecise technological assemblages that catalyze forms of live electroacoustic composition and new ways of listening.

Phew

Hiromi Moritani aka Phew is a legendary figure in the Japanese underground scene. She started out in 1978 as the frontwoman of one of Osaka's first punk groups, Aunt Sally, and went on to work as a solo artist with some of the most prominent names, including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Conny Plank, Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit of Can, Alex Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten and Chrislo Haas from DAF. In recent years she has released several records and played live with Ana da Silva (The Raincoats), Jim O'Rourke, Oren Ambarchi, Ikue Mori and Yoshimi (OOIOO, Boredoms), among others.
