As you know by now, Different Class is setting up some parties in 2023! Our first one in Antwerp was such a success, so we are thrilled to announce our next evening, this time taking place at PILAR.

For the occasion, we’re blending the energies of Club Détour and Kontakt Group. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on this non-conventional club night!

Combining electronic music with experimental live shows, from dance beats to music that prompts the audience to listen, mixing a gender and age-inclusive audience of French-speaking and Dutch-speaking people, Club Détour is a party series creating a musical experience that can break the flow of a classic club night. Giving the stage to local artists who can share the line-up with artists from all over the world, the collective acts as a stepping stone for artists here to lift the local scene.

The self-titled ‘sort of Brussels-based label’, studio and radio show host, Kontakt Group, won’t hold you back either. Originally inspired by New wave, the sound of Kontakt Group has evolved and broadened over time. Consistent yet hard to define in terms of genres, Kontakt Group is forever inspired by incorporating all sorts of musical influences. Just as in the organisation of their events, Kontakt Group loves the combination of live acts and DJ sets, curating an exciting dynamic to your night.

Aroh

Hangin’ around on the streets of the Brussels Capital Region and collecting some wonderfully weird records and MP3’s along the way. Not to be pinned down in a corner or genre but with his eyes always on the prize, Aroh brings a selection of tunes deeply rooted in the archive of the subterranean music catalogues. Part of Kontakt Group and often spotted at Crevette Records.

Producer, DJ and vocalist from the UK with an experimental approach, fusing Dubwise FX, obscure drum machine workouts and words of truth with an undercurrent of UK dance music.

Diony Lake

Diony Lake is the moniker of Brussels based composer Dennis Meersman, under which he has been releasing music, and performing since 2019. His practice includes the exploration of the intersection of counterpoint and the gratification of popular music through computer based synthesis.

Jente Waerzeggers 

The Belgian audiovisual artist is an active member of Kontakt Group. As a musician and photographer, Jente Waerzeggers is most definitely no stranger to the music and arts scene.

Jonas Mergan

Besides being known for his excellent skills as graphic designer, Club Détour member Jonas Mergan has been making waves in Brussels with his eclectic and electronic sets.

Oï Les Ox 

Oï Les Ox is a visual artist and composer from Paris with a 10 years musical training as an harpist and a master graduation at Villa Arson . She is interested in poetry and music and its dispersion in many spaces such as stairs, amphiteaters, concert rooms, gardens... After creating multi-channel installations performing readings with actors and recordings, she worked on a single project of sound poetry and electronic music, under the moniker Oï les Ox, called ‘Crooner qui coule sous les clous’ (A crooner that sinks under nails). She has been a resident at Le Botanique, Les Ateliers Claus (Brussels) and Hetbos (Antwerp), and has played at Heart of Noise festival (Innsbruck, 21), at Schiev festival (Brussels, 22), at Oxi Club (Berlin, 22).

Otro

Otro is a Spanish producer known for his recognizable and often folkloric approach to the modern scopes of internet music. From releasing experimental ambient and drone on Midlife Music and Eastern Nurseries to producing for artists such as Baby Pantera, Rojuu, or Adios Adios, and more recently even sharing rumba tracks, Otro has been pushing his combination of digital synthesis, loops, samples, and guitar outside of the Iberian SoundCloud scene. He will bring a one-off live show in Pilar.

Louis Vogue

As one of the co-founders of Club Détour, Kiosk Radio insider and part of the Les Chats Noirs collective, Louis Vogue is carving out an undeniable position for himself. Bound for prominence through standout performances within the thriving Brussels (queer) scene, this local club kid made name as a bold DJ unafraid of making a statement on the dancefloor. He describes his sets as violently happy, often blending the lines between nineties rave culture and modern dance music.

Moogy Maserati is a Brussels-based DJ and artist, blending love songs, emotional (hard)core and daily recordings into mixes that range from sleepy to chaotic. Either slow or fast, her mixes are consistently hitting hard for emotional nights.

Soumaya Phéline

Brussels-based DJ, promoter, local active figure since 2006, Kiosk Radio host, and member of the Psst Mlle & Club Détour collectives, Soumaya Phéline isn’t here to make crowds feel comfortable. Instead, she constantly toys with dance floor expectations by drawing from various electronic sub-genres – never quite giving you the kick, climax or gulp of air you thought you needed or asked for. Heavy with bass, breaks, mesmerising melodies and rhythmic vocals, Soumaya’s sets distort and disturb in a way that’s strangely satisfying.
