Cape St. Francis aims to shine a light on waves of all shapes and sizes. This time we're inviting rising star Nèna and Toma Kami on top of our residents DJ Corridor and Lil Lawaw.
Nèna:
Amsterdam’s Nèna brings feverish heat to the dance floor with sets that balance right in between smooth and energetic. Her open-minded approach to club music results in eclectic selection of dancehall and reggaeton glued into her excellent picks of bass, rolling techno and percussive electronics. Common threads that weave together her sound are dreamy melodies, contrasted with crunchy percussion, and a sweet sugar coating in the form of seductive vocals or luscious samples.
Toma Kami:
The Paris-based artist and Man Band label boss amazed us with his set at Dekmantel Selectors last summer as well as is release on Livity Sound. He bends and toys with drums and bass, twisting and turning them through the worlds of house, techno, breaks, juke and club to come up with something thrillingly fresh and hard to define.
