The warm-spirited days of May are approaching and so is Horst Arts and Music Festival, a three-day experience very much anticipated by people in Belgium and beyond. Situated in Asiat Park in Vilvorde, Horst is a festival where art meets music in unconventional ways. The festival’s strength lies in its ability to offer a fun yet in-depth experience, an enjoyable yet complex journey of sonic, visual and all-around sensorial exploration. To highlight the diversity that Horst Arts and Music welcomes this year, we have selected an array of international and queer artists to give you a taste of 2024’s flavorful lineup.

Different Class members are offered a hot deal for the Thursday Opening Night of the festival, a 50% discount not to be missed by true electronic music enthusiasts!

Unos

The Filipino Belgian producer and DJ Unos has mastered the art of energetic, engaging and sensual sets. Just as her name alludes to (from Cebuano/Binisayâ language; it also appears in Tagalog) and stands for ‘storm’, Unos’ use of music has a tornado quality to it: she is not afraid to challenge the fabric of dance music and play with the public's expectations. Her DJ sets exist in the realm of versatility and range from house and techno to breaks and trance, creating both a moody and melodic ambience.

Aurora Halal & DJ Nobu

Aurora Halal is a name that you might have heard before, and if not you definitely should. As a producer, DJ, and visionary behind Brooklyn's influential Mutual Dreaming party series, she guides audiences through immersive soundscapes where emotions flicker between playfulness, darkness, euphoria, and vulnerability.

Echoing Halal’s tendency to use dance music as a conduit for transformation, Japan’s music titan Dj Nobu joins her for a HORST set b2b. Equally known for his mastery of sound experiences where he simultaneously takes the audience on a techno tour de force while having the sensibility to remain attentive and flexible towards the energy and needs of his crowd.

Juliana Huxtable & JASSS

Recently released on PAN (Tongue in the Mind) Juliana Huxtable is in a constant state of shapeshifting via her diverse fields of interest. She is a multidisciplinary artist who is here to surprise and reinvent ways to break through binaries. In a like-minded rebellious manner, the Berlin-based sound artist JASSS, flirts with the idea of deconstructing club culture back to its purest form by using music that is as ecstatic as it is contemplative.

In that sense, this duo is a match made in heaven precisely because both advocate for music experiences that are not merely about entertainment but about pushing boundaries and embracing forward-thinking sounds, production techniques, and concepts.

upsammy & Kiernan Laveaux

Another non-conventional sonic explorer is upsammy, who traverses music realms both in her productions as well as in her sets. With a background in Image and Media Technology and an interest in the meeting point of the synthetic and natural, she weaves music in ways that are everything but boring. At HORST she is joined by Kieran Laveaux, a US fresh voice that embodies ‘house as a feeling’. Catch her regularly at Lot Radio, where she explores realms of queerness by bringing an experimental flair to everything she does.

Dee Diggs

Black and Queer excellence personified, Dee Deegs is yet another sound magician who proved to be fundamental to Brooklyn and NYC queer party scene. Her DJ sets have been characterized as skillfully navigating through the history and contemporary landscape of dance music, focusing on tracks with rich narratives, enticing club edits, authentic soulfulness, subtle yet infectious rhythms and energetic anthems.
